Gu10 Vs Gu24 - How To Discuss
Gu10 Vs Gu24
What is the difference between GU10 and GU24 base lamps? 3
I have a ceiling fan with 3 halogen bulbs that indicate they have a GU10 base. I'd like to use CFLs instead, but all the CFLs I've seen on the GU24 show. I didn't put the two together for comparison and wondered what the difference would be. As far as I could see, both were two grams of pears. Is the gas different in size? On the GU10 I found only one option other than halogen which was LED and they were very expensive. If the GU24 matches the GU10, I would like to purchase a CFL with a GU24 socket. Even if someone can tell me if CFL produces a less focused effect than GU10 or GU24 halogen. The lamp I have takes the light to a specific angle and leaves the SS blank in the dark. I leaked that the CFL would be longer.
They are usually the same size, but also to see if they are the same or different. LEDs are expensive, but they last for years and do not cost much to operate when the voltage drops.

Gu10 base
The difference in the spacing between the beaunt connector pins (this is a twist and lock type). On GU10 based lamps, the pin distance is 10 mm, whereas on GU24 the pin distance is 24 mm. Adapters are available to connect the GU10 based lamp to the GU24 socket.
Gu24 Basic
In GU, U means Universal, so you can use this lamp in GU and GZ luminaires. GZ lamps can only be used with GZ lamps. If you look at the ceramic edge of the lamp, you can see that the GZ is at a right angle, while the GU is tilted 45 degrees.
