I cleaned the top of the stove and one of them was enough to get the gas out. No fire, just the smell of gas. I fell asleep, but after a while I could smell gas. I opened the window, but should I do something else?
This is just a small leak. When you have ventilated your apartment and you do not smell of gas, you are ready to go. The only thing you need to worry about is not knowing where the leak is coming from. The problem is solved by removing the gas and stopping the leak.
If your stove was built at any time in the last 20 years, it can light all the burners, and if there are no failed safe devices, no gas can flow from the burners. Modern gas stoves have a thermal switch on the gas. If the burner does not light up and the SW probe heats up, the gas automatically shuts off on the burner. If it is damaged, it should be replaced immediately.
You may notice that only a small amount of gas escapes from the stove. Use ventilation and you'll be fine, but don't spread the spark while waiting.
