Of course you can (well I said that, but I'm not sure how fat you are). Wear a wooden T-shirt so thick that it's hard to break. When our dogs travel on the SWS, they do so on a wooden stick with a mat on top and then a bed. But we have a dog that still breaks things and lies on the wood ... no bed, but of course an indivisible toy. As long as it's hard, you can't catch it chewing, you can't catch it with nails etc. Wood is easy to clean with a cloth and a little disinfectant ... or, preferably, vinegar. Well, you can buy metal trays in the UK, but they are very expensive. Continue with the wood. Your dog will be fine.

If you can keep wood safely where it does not chew or break, I will. There seem to be some negative reactions to living in a cage that you can try to resolve. Have you ever tried a cage as a house? It looks like a fence and works well with most dogs. My lab hasn't finished it yet. We put your bed there and of course it will remove the toys and the bed, but it's better than changing the box.

I would refrain from using plywood as it can easily damage your dog and is really too restless to clean. Also, if your boxer is chewing on plastic, the plywood can break and cause internal damage.

Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. It had cement slabs and fabric cushions in places that didn't foam because it would break into pieces. As for our other dean, he is almost two years old and lives in his box all the time, but it is the most durable vessel and I would like to remind you where we got this box from. My dog broke 3 plastic pots under his crate. Has anyone ever replaced a plastic box with a piece of plywood? I really don't want to buy an expensive replacement fourth tray.
Any suggestions are welcome!

Have you ever seen a cage as a box? It looks like a sack that encloses with a drawstring. My lab hasn't destroyed it yet. We put her bed there and she will destroy the toys and the bed, but it is better than changing the box.
